This policy explains what [BUSINESS NAME] collects when you use our text message service, why we collect it, and who it is and is not shared with.

1. What we collect

• Your mobile phone number — from the message you send us.
• The content of messages you send us and the replies we send you.
• Your preferences — the teams you follow, alert settings, and digest settings.
• Message timestamps and delivery status, used to operate the service and diagnose problems.
• Payment records, if you buy a subscription or message credit. We do not store card numbers — see section 4.

We do not collect your name, address, email, or location unless you send it to us. We do not track you across websites, and we do not use advertising cookies on this site.

2. Why we collect it

• To answer the messages you send.
• To send the alerts and digests you have specifically requested.
• To keep a record of your consent to receive messages, as required by mobile carriers and applicable law.
• To maintain and improve the service, including fixing messages the system failed to understand.
• To bill you, if you have purchased anything.

3. How we do not use it

We do not sell your phone number or any of your information.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories in section 4 exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; that information is not shared with any third party.

4. Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with service providers who help us operate:

• Our SMS provider, to deliver messages to and from your phone.
• Our sports data provider, which receives the team and date being looked up. It does not receive your phone number.
• Our payment processor, if you make a purchase. Card details go directly to the processor and are never stored on our systems.
• Where required by law, such as a valid legal request.

These providers may only use the information to perform their service for us.

5. Advertising

Messages may include a short sponsor line from a local business. Sponsors pay for the placement only. Sponsors do not receive your phone number or any information about you, and we do not target sponsor messages based on anything about you as an individual.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your phone number and preferences for as long as you use the service. If you text STOP, we keep a record of your number and your opt-out so we can honor it — that is the only reason it is retained. Message logs are kept for up to 12 months for troubleshooting and consent records, then deleted.

7. Your choices

• Text STOP at any time to end all messages.
• Text ALERTS OFF to stop automatic messages while still being able to ask for scores.
• Email us to request a copy of what we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it.

8. Security

Information is stored on access-controlled systems and transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect specifically so there is little to lose.

9. Children

This service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used the service, email us and we will delete the information.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always posted here with the date it was last updated.
